It is made by cutting a bamboo tube into narrow splinters which are then splayed out in the radial shape of a fan. Usually uchiwa made with washi paper, but Tenugui uchiwa is made with tenugui (face side) + washi paper (back side). You can see delicated craftsmanship through it. Using selected mat silver metal frame 3/4" (2.3cm) side-width, 1/4" (8mm) face-width with plexiglas (clear acrylic glass), all framing works are done by hand in the fine art quality frame shop in New York. The price is including shipping and handling fee. (US order only. Additional fee for international order)

Tip for your custom frame tenugui;
Chusen tenugui is reversible, with patterns appering both on the front and reverse sides. Uses face side on top for one tenugui, and uses reverse side for the others - you may creat one big art piece like the photo below. Only chusen tenugui can do this art work!
